My name is Ilka Štuhec. I was born on 26th of October 1990 in Slovenj Gradec. Most people know me as a member of Slovenian woman A (world cup) team in alpine skiing, which is my main occupation for most of my life. I first stood on skis when I was two and a half years old and I’ll stay on them, one way or another, for as long as I can. My carier was marked by a lot of serious injuryes, which I managed to rehabilitate and now I really hope I’m finished with them. I’m proud on my 10th place in downhill and 13th place in Super G at the Olympic Games in Sochi 2014. In the season 2016/2017, precisely on 02/12/2016 in Lake Louis I won my first race in World Cup in my favourite discipline – downhill. I showed my good performance also by winning the downhill on the next day and then in Val d’Isere, where I also added a win in Alpine Combine. Mostly we train on our own, as the training must me focused on my needs. Between all of this, in 2009 I managed to regularly complete high school on II. gimnazija Maribor and now I continue my studying on Ekonomsko – poslovna fakulteta (Faculty of economics and business) in Maribor. Because of my ‘occupancy’ with skiing, fulfilling my obligatins is slower that I would wish. Since 24th of April 2014 I’m employed in Ministry of the interior, Police, Department of profesional athletes.
